OPCS MISSION We endeavor to provide meaningful services and processes, with humanity
and dignity, which can assist people who are hungry, homeless or disadvantaged to improve the quality of their lives.
Open Pantry Community Services operates a Holiday Meals program, which provides a traditional holiday meal for anyone in need of a meal or for those who wish to spend Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter with others.
The Holiday Meals are served at the High School of Commerce, 415 State St., Springfield, MA 01105
Loaves & Fishes is a life sustaining service and essential to the health of people who are disadvantaged. Providing meals is not only a way to prevent malnutrition and improve health, but also a way to connect people to other essential services. Open Pantry's Emergency Food Pantry (EFP) has been providing non-perishable groceries for people in need since 1975. Both individuals and families in the Springfield area come to the EFP on an emergency basis.
From July 2011 - June 2012 16,160 intake visits were performed which in turn provided non-perishable food/groceries
to over 37,425 people, half of whom were children.
